October 2006 New Programs
(1)Special program for overseas students studying Japanese language and culture
(General Course)
This new program is organized for undergraduate level students, at the request of various overseas organizations.
1.Applicants: Overseas students hoping to study Japanese language/culture
2.Capacity: 10 students
3.Term: October – March of the following year (Program term can be extended so long as it does not exceed one year.)
4.Qualified applicants:
(1)Those who have completed, or are expected to complete, before participating in the program, the general education course in universities/colleges outside Japan.
(2)Those who have been allowed to take the program, on examination by the Director of the Center for Japanese Language and Culture.
5.Selection method
Program participants will be selected on the basis of their application documents and proposed study plans.

(2)Special program for overseas students studying Japanese language and culture
(Graduate Level Course)
This newly organized special graduate school level program is based on our more than 50 years of experience in preliminary education for overseas students coming to Japan for specialized training/teachers training. It is not designed to have its participants get credits.
1.Applicants: Overseas students who hope to build basic capability in Japanese studies
2.Capacity: 10 students
3.Term: October – March of the following year (Program term can be extended so long as it does not exceed one year.)
4. Qualified applicants
Those who fall under any of the following:
a) Those who are enrolled in graduate school outside Japan and major in Japanese language/culture
b) Those who have completed the general education course at university/college and have received above-junior-level Japanese language education
c) Those who are considered to have high academic qualification in the field of Japanese studies, on examination by the Director of the Center for Japanese Language and Culture
5.Selection method
Program participants will be selected on the basis of their application documents and proposed research plans.
