Study Tour of the Karahori area [5月 31,2012 ]
On May 22, the Practical Japanese Course students made a study tour of the Karahori area, where people were making efforts to preserve traditional houses. First the staff members of ‘Karahori Club’ guided us around the area. After that they gave us a lecture and we had a discussion about it. We felt quite familiar with the area’s scenery, because we had got some knowledge about it by watching a movie, ‘Princess Toyotomi,’ beforehand in the prior class. By this tour students learned that there were a lot of problems to solve for revitalizing the region by preserving and reviving Japanese traditional row houses, and they thought about their own countries’ cases in comparison.
