Seminar course in translation for Practical Japanese Course students [6月 22,2012 ]

In this Spring Semester also we held seminar courses in translation for the Practical Japanese Course students (three classes in all). The instructor Ms. Remiko Ueda gave us lectures about what the actual translator’s job was like, what was required for being a translator, what was important in the translator’s training, and so on.
In the third and last class, students did practice of simultaneous interpretation using the university’s facilities for the training of interpretation, which was probably the first time experience to all the students. After the practice a lot of students expressed an unexpected opinion that it was a good training and learning of not only Japanese but also their own native language.
