Study Tour of the Karahori area [6月 06,2013 ]
On May 21, the Practical Japanese Course students made a study tour of the Karahori area. After the guided tour by the staff members of ‘Karahori Club,’ each student did a small presentation about what had been most impressive in the tour, and we had a discussion about it.
This year we divided into three tour groups, ‘Architecture Course,’ ‘Sightseeing and History Course,’ ‘General Course,’ and were given a lecture from each guide’s specialist point of view. Especially students got a valuable experience of studying about the attempts of preserving and reviving old traditional houses represented by ‘Nagaya’ (row houses), which was a common topic to all the courses.
