Seminar course in translation for Practical Japanese Course students [7月 03,2013 ]
Seminar course in translation was held for the Practical Japanese Course students in May and June (three classes in all). The instructor Ms. Kaoru Kawasaki gave us lectures about basic things, such as the kinds of translator’s job, the differences between oral translation and written translation, the career pass for being a translator. Next under the instruction of Ms. Kawasaki, students did practice of consecutive interpreting and simultaneous interpreting using an interview as a training material. In the third and last class, all the students experienced simultaneous interpretation sitting in the interpretation booth equipped for the university’s interpretation training room.
