J Program Field Trip to Hiroshima [3月 03,2014 ]
On February 20 and 21, we had a field trip to Hiroshima prefecture for J program students. On the first day we crossed over to Miyajima island by ferry and visited Itsukushima shrine. Unfortunately the tide was low, but thanks for that we could walk to the famous big ‘Torii.’ After seeing the shrine students went to see the places they liked in the island. Some were enjoying the beautiful scenery, some were playing with deer living there. Many of them visited Daiseiin temple and enjoyed its peculiar facilities.
On the next day we went to the center of Hiroshima city and first visited the Peace Memorial Museum. Students were free to do as they liked after seeing the museum. Most of them of course went to see the Peace Memorial Park and the Atomic Bomb Dome. They also had a lunch as they liked in the city, so some students tried Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki that was quite different from that of Osaka.
