Lecture prior to going on a field trip to Kyoto (May 26, 2015) [6月 16,2015 ]
A lecture prior to going on a field trip was given for the Maple students at the CJLC Hall on May 26. This time, they would be going to the Gekkeikan Okura Sake Museum and Fushimi Inari-taisha (the head shrine of Inari: god of harvests, fertility, rice, sake and worldly success) in Fushimi-ku, Kyoto.
Professor Shimamoto gave a lecture on the various kinds of sake and about the sake culture. He showed the students a variety of traditional tools, mostly dating back to the Edo Period, which was used for brewing sake. He also explained about the profoundness of the sake culture which proved to be extremely informative.(in Japanese)
