Field trip (Making authentic Japanese sweets and strolling through the Higashiyama District) [6月 24,2016 ]
The Maple Program students went on their first field trip for the Program’s spring semester as part of their special seminar on Japanese Language and Culture on June 21, 2016.
On this field trip, they got to experience making authentic sweets as well as strolling through the Higashiyama District.
The students made three different kinds of Japanese sweets ideal for the season and enjoyed eating what they had created with tea. Afterwards, they were able to see the various forms of architecture like the Sanjusangendo Buddhist temple as they walked through the Higashiyama District, thus getting a first-hand look of the Japanese housing culture.
